My 3 Words

Remember when I told you in my last post about the 3 words to describe my brand?

no? – go look… yes!? – see below.

As a refresher, the 3 words I chose to describe my brand are THOUGHTFUL, GENUINE, & INVENTIVE and I’m going to tell you why.

  1. Thoughtful – Because I feel like that’s a huge part of who I am. I love my friends and my family and I try to show them I care by writing letters or sending little surprises every once in a while. Not only does it make them smile, but it makes ME smile. I feel AWESOME when I send someone mail. (Plussss I’m obsessed with cute stationary… I have a whole dresser drawer filled!)I know how much it makes me feel loved when I open my mailbox and I LOVE giving that feeling to someone. Snail mail is the best mail! I want my clients to feel like I care about them too. I don’t want to just show up, snap photos, and be like “okay… SEE YA”… I want them to have an experience with me that makes them feel comfortable and cared for!letters
  1. Genuine – When I approach a photoshoot, my goal is to capture TRUE personality… how they smile, how they laugh, how they ARE! I want to see someone’s genuine spirit. I want to deliver images that they look at and feel happy about! I don’t want my client to feel uncomfortable or unnatural. I want to help my clients “warm up” to being in front of the camera. I start my shoots by having a conversation with them… getting them comfortable and having them laugh! Taking a photo of someone smiling is different than taking a photo of them laughing… I love those photos where their eyes are smiling too!genuine
  1. Inventive – While staying thoughtful and genuine are important to me, staying inventive and new is just as important for my creative mind. I would never want to fall into the same photographic routine. I like creating new images by learning new skills or driving somewhere I’ve never been or trying new angles and distances. I want to constantly be learning and growing as an individual and as a photographer. I don’t want to simply take photos to “take photos”… it’s not that easy and I would never want it to be. wedding dress
