RACHEL & ADAM | WINTRY ENGAGEMENT SESSION | OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA, VA
You know that feeling when you meet people and you feel like you’ve known them your whole life? That’s how I felt when I was hanging out with Rachel and Adam! Okay… maybe I should say that I do “know” Rachel. Her mom and my dad went to the same high school and yearrrrrrs ago at one of their reunions they reconnected and our families got together for dinner a few times. But as life goes, we got busy in our own lives and we didn’t see each other again… until NOW! I’m telling you we probably haven’t seen each other in at least 10 years… a lot changes in 10 years! But from the first second we reconnected it was a comfortable feeling!
We almost didn’t have their session that day! There had been some freezing rain earlier that day that didn’t look promising but as the afternoon went on… the sun came out and we decided to give it a try! Rachel and Adam live in Richmond and we knew it was going to be tricky trying to find another weekend that we could get together for these photos! Aside from nearly slipping on ice on the sidewalks, I’d say the engagement session went AMAZING! We laughed… a lot… because #1 I say a lot of ridiculous things and pretty much never stop talking and Adam was also a total ham. I told him that I needed him at every session… he was so funny! Rachel and Adam had so much chemistry on camera… total naturals!
So before we get to the pictures… I asked Rachel and Adam how they met and they said it was a pretty funny story… Adam and Rachel’s twin sister went to Virginia Tech. One night Adam approached Rachel when they were out thinking it was her twin sister and started going on about how they had a class together and Rachel quickly corrected him “NO, I’m not Alyssa, I’m Rachel!” … but she thought he was cute they kept talking!
Here are my favorites from their Old Town Alexandria engagement session… and a few bloopers at the end that will make you laugh!
THIS WAS THE FIRST PICTURE… you see?! Naturals!
You can’t go to old town and NOT take a picture on the cobblestone street… however… we nearly gave up because cars just kept coming and there was barely a break!
It was so fun taking photos with all of the Christmas decorations everywhere!
THE alley. THE favorite. THE best. One of my favorite spots in Old Town Alexandria!
Love the twinkle lights in the background!
“How do you guys feel about sitting on these rocks over here?”
You guys are too cute!
The sun was basically gone and we started walking back to our cars… but this bamboo caught my eye… is it bamboo? idk… but it looked cool!
It was pretty cold so we were trying to see if we could see their breath… but it turned out looking ridiculous haha!
Thank you for an AWESOME Old Town Alexandria engagement session and sticking it out even though it was slippery and cold! Can’t wait for the wedding in August!
