Libby and Nick’s Quirk Hotel wedding day was so special to be a part of! Not only were these two saying their “I Do’s” but they were bringing their families together to be the new #petersonpartyof5! I was so honored when Libby asked ME to be the one to capture this day because she’s a photographer herself! We met at the Katelyn James Workshop Experience in 2015 and it was seriously the highest honor to have been the one chosen to photographer this bright and colorful wedding at the Quirk Hotel! Libby LOVES pink… so the Quirk Hotel was the perfect place for her wedding! I shot all of the details on the pretty pink couch and was blown away at how beautiful her bridal bouquet and BHLDN crop top/skirt combo were – totally Libby!
I don’t think I’ve ever taken as may portraits as I did of Libby and Nick! They shared their first look in the lobby and then we wandered to all the spots that we wanted for portraits! With the Quirk Hotel’s white walls and high ceilings full of natural light, it made for the BEST portraits! I’ve never taken so many portraits inside before… but how could you not – the lighting was perfect!
Their ceremony was short and sweet. Libby’s dad walked her down the aisle as her brother-in-law, Jarrod, played the guitar. Libby’s sister officiated and Nick’s sister gave a reading. As they read their vows, Nick started to get chocked up and his daughter ran up to give him a hug! I love when couples read personal vows – I almost have a hard time keeping it together! The ceremony ended and the guests were invited into the lobby for cocktail hour while I finished up with family portraits and a few “Just Married” portraits of Libby and Nick! We snuck back up to the rooftop and got a few more portraits before the rain hit!
The reception was split into two parts – a cozy dinner on the mezzanine level with speeches and an “open mic” for speeches and a few friends stood up as well as their kids to make a toast! The mom’s prepared a special “presentation” of a song sung to the tune of “The Brady Bunch” and everyone laughed! Because the rain got so bad, they decided to move the dancing from the courtyard to the basement room. Libby and Nick’s first dance song, Rivers & Roads, was perfect and sweet. We finished the night with a confetti photo outside and I still found confetti in my hair when I got home.
Okay, I know… you want to see the photos now!! Check out some of my favorites from the Peterson wedding at the Quirk Hotel!!
