Walker’s Overlook, how have I never been here before!? This hidden gem of a venue tucked up in Walkersville, Maryland had the perfect setting for Natalie and Andrew’s wedding. I can’t say enough good things about this equally gem of a couple. From the moment we started talking, I knew I was in for a treat to work with these two! Starting from their engagement session where they brought me a goody bag of my favorite candies (the diet can wait…) to the sweetest thank you emails to arriving at their wedding and seeing how they incorporated their engagement photos into so many elements of their day! I’m used to seeing couples use photos I’d taken of them as Save the Dates but I’ve never seen them printed into cufflinks, printed on drums for guest books, and it’s rare that I see them printed and in frames all over the reception! It was so neat!
I arrived and greeted a very smiley bride! After photographing Natalie’s details outside and seeing Andrew SO EXCITED to see his bride, Natalie and Andrew exchanged letters before sharing their first look. It was such a sweet moment – I love standing at a distance and seeing their eyes light up along with grins from ear to ear and hearing them exchange sweet words as they walk towards each other for an embrace. During a first look, I stand away… let them have their moment and soak it all in. I wait for them to look at me before I step in and start taking photos of them once more.
I loved Natalie and Andrew’s colors – the gray with the pops of color in the bouquets! Bridal party photos were so fun! Their friends were a good time and laughed when I made corny jokes which was much appreciated. We took photos on the porch of Walker’s Overlook and then in the backyard to avoid the sun. Aside from the sun doing its sunny thing, we had exceptionally beautiful weather!
After their short and sweet ceremony, guests gathered on the lawn for lawn games! Jenga, ladder toss, and corn hole! It was the perfect evening for games all night long! Guests spent the evening in the lawn, busting a move with the help from the amazing band, and indulging in a sweet (or two!) from Natalie and Andrew’s incredible dessert table!
It was such an honor to be the photographer for Natalie and Andrew’s Walker’s Overlook wedding! These two were so sweet and easy to work with. Their guests were one of a kind! You could feel the love that their friends and family had for them throughout every part of the day. Thank you Natalie and Andrew for having ME photograph your day!! I hope you enjoyed your amazing honeymoon in SPAIN!
