MARYANN & NICK | LONDON HISTORY MUSEUM & HYDE PARK | LONDON, ENGLAND
London, England – a favorite destination of mine! I talk about all the time how quickly I fell in love with the charm of this city and the endless exploring that can be done there. It’s been a dream of mine to shoot a wedding and engagement session there! Maryann and Nick already have a wedding photographer BUT they made my London engagement dreams come true! Nick is the godson of my host mom who hosted me on my study abroad trip back in college. My host mom, Katharine, and I still stay in contact and she’s so generous to let me stay with her and the family every time I come out! She gave me Nick’s info and Maryann and I did all the coordination! We talked about finding something “very London” but less chaotic so she chose the London Natural History Museum which was something out of Harry Potter – unbelievable architecture! My mom watched our bags as we climbed staircases and wandered down hallways. I easily could have gotten lost for hours.
Something interesting that I learned from Maryann was that couples don’t usually take “engagement” pictures before their wedding. They typically only have photos taken at the wedding. I explained to her why I think they’re so helpful in “practicing” and feeling comfortable before a camera is in your face on wedding day and she totally agreed. These two were such a bubbly pair – I mean you’ll see it in their faces! They were so natural for never doing photos like this before and were totally up for trusting me when I would place them somewhere and promise the shot was going to be awesome.
Before going our separate ways, we took some photos in the street and walked over to Hyde Park. As we were walking and talking I discovered that we both have a mutual love of country music! How crazy is that?! I didn’t think country music was a “thing” in Europe but Nick said they’ve been to Las Vegas a few times for concerts! What?! Okay, world travelers! My kinda people!

Getting these shots of them outside the museum was a little tricky… but my mom was a barrier from the crowds when we needed to get the shot! ha!
