I might be a little #FashionablyTardy on this blog post but it’s been busy over here and I’m finally sitting down to finish it! Meg and Zach’s Rolling Hill Farms wedding was definitely a fave this year… not only the amazing golden hour that we had but a wedding of two genuinely amazing people who took me into the weekend as more than a wedding vendor. We’ll for sure be having a wine date soon. When I have out of state weddings I like to attend the rehearsal because I get into town the night before and have time! I like getting to meet the families and friends who are part of the big day and see the bride and groom! When I walked into rehearsal, Meg’s smile lit up the room and Zach gave me the biggest hug saying he was soooo happy that I was the photographer. (omg so presh)!
Wedding morning was so relaxed! I photographed Meg’s bridal details while chatting with her bridesmaids. Everyone was so nice! Her sister even made me an espresso (thanks Erin!). After rearranging all the furniture in their dining room (Sorry, Mrs Robertson – the light was the BEST! Haha), Meg got into her dress and read Zach’s note! I always offer to step away as they read their letter because some brides want privacy and don’t want their reactions photographed – I totally respect either way. Meg didn’t mind, so I captured the cutest smile from her!
The ceremony took place in Meg’s childhood church. Zach was SO excited to see her when she walked down the aisle! It was such a sweet moment! (Gosh, I love weddings!) After the ceremony we rushed over to Rolling Hill Farms to take photos! Oh gosh, I couldn’t just pick a couple of favorites to share with you because they were all so amazing! Meg and Zach’s chemistry on camera totally shines through! Giggles, dimples, real laughs – love it all!
The guests had hours of fun with dancing, corn hole on the lawn and a photobooth! At golden hour I asked Meg if they were okay going outside for a few more and immediately she said “YES!!! I can’t wait! We’re going to have the BEST photos.” — That’s all I need to say – LET’S GO! I found a spot in the parking lot (yes… you read that right) that the light was streaming through the trees and then before heading inside we headed over to the open fields. As we’re walking around, dodging cow poo…, a bunch of cows come walking over and just stand their staring at us…. like sorry friends, we didn’t bring any food. BUT now we have the most epic golden hour photos complete with cows! So funny!
